There are beautiful walks and scenery on the doorstep, and lots of lovely areas and hidden gems a short drive away….
Some of our favourite beaches nearby: East Beach & Central Beach (no dogs allowed on the beach in Summer) in Nairn, Hilton of Delnies beach (off the beaten track and great for dog walking), Rosemarkie (huge long beach between Forres and Burghead), Cove Bay near Hopeman, Cummingston beach (great for rock-pooling).
Nairn has many good restaurants and pubs (Bandstand Restaurant, The Classroom, Sun Dancer and Boath House to name but a few….) and a wide range of shops on the high street, James’s Ice Cream at the Putting Green, Househill Courtyard (farm shop and café outside Nairn on the A939 towards Cawdor)
Findhorn is well worth a visit, 20 minutes or so from Cawdor, lovely old fishing village with beach behind, very popular at weekends and in summer. Couple of nice pubs serving great food and Findhorn Bakehouse Café, traditional handmade bread and delicious food.
FURTHER AFIELD….
Lots to explore all along the beautiful Moray Coast and beyond, here are just a few suggestions:
The Black Isle and Rosemarkie beach, Clava Cairns, The Cheese Pantry Ardersier, Randolph’s Leap on the beautiful Findhorn River, Auldearn Antiques.
The stunning West Coast is only around an hour and a half away if you want a longer trip – Plockton, Ullapool, Gairloch and Inverewe Gardens just to name a very few of the beautiful spots on the West Coast.
